Meet the Owner/Operator

Hi!  My name is Darragh Simon, and I'm a Licensed Massage Therapist, registered Yoga Alliance Instructor, and certified Health Coach.  I have over 25 years experience in a variety of bodywork modalities, including Deep Tissue and Swedish, Lymphatic, and CranioSacral Therapy, among others.  I began an apprenticeship in 1990 and studied with a certified Massage Therapist for nearly two years.  In 1992 I passed the National Exam for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork and became nationally certified before the state of South Carolina established licensing for Massage Therapists.  I have been a member of the American Massage Therapy Association since 1992.

I began my personal practice of yoga in 1999.  In 2006, after retiring from 29 years as a public school teacher, I enrolled in a 200-Hour teacher training program in Houston, TX to become a Hatha Yoga Instructor.  Upon completion of that training, I began teaching in local health clubs, community centers, and various yoga studios.  In 2014, I completed my 500-Hour level of Yoga training in Charleston, SC. through Holy Cow Yoga Center and have continued to teach in in a variety of settings, as well as conducting private Yoga sessions and hosting Yoga retreats for small groups.

My passion for health and nutrition has been with me since I was a college student.  After more than three decades of working part-time in the field of health and fitness, it seemed entirely fitting to seize the opportunity to become a certified Health Coach.  In September, 2014 I enrolled in an 11-month course offered by the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in New York City and completed the certification process in August, 2015.
